My Projects

I have decided to make June a combination Lace/UFO KAL.

I am approaching the halfway mark on Muir, a project I started back in January and recently picked up again. I'm knitting it in Oceanwind Knits Wool Silk Lace in a one-of-a-kind colourway called "Agate".

When I finish that I am going to work on a Shoalwater Shawl in turquoise laceweight that I started ages ago and last worked on last summer. My daughter has been nagging me to finish it (I think she lusts after it. LOL).

At the end of June I will be receiving the second installment of Make One's Year of Lace club so will begin work on that when it arrives. I just finished the first shawl today. It's not blocked yet but I can't resist showing it off.

You can see more photos on Ravelry (username: knitsnpurls) or on my blog http://knitsnpurlsworld.blogspot.com/ if you're interested.

Can't wait to see everyone's projects,

Carol

Bleeding Hearts

I think I have finally decided on my bleeding hearts stole as my Lace Kal.
If I can do one half of the stole per month then I should be able to finish the KAL no problem!
Everyone else picked their pattern?

I owe you all an apology

Hi Everybody

I feel terrible - I have been ignoring you for so long. I did, finally, finish my "March Sweater madness" sweater in April, and I have actually worn it a few times, but I have yet to post a picture.

I can't actually remember if I took a picture.

I had plans to do so but life has been getting in the way of a lot of fun things lately.

I will do my best to fix this in the next week.

Apologies again.

OH, as far as lace goes, I am currently working on the Swallowtail Shawl in KSH. Does that count?

Joining the Lace KAL

Great idea, Michelle!

I'm definitely in. Good stash buster. Must go find pattern.
I am knitting a lace sweater at the moment but I like the idea of another lacey something...

I'm Loving Lace

I have lots of lace shawls to choose from, some still on the needles and some still in skeins. I'll let you know what I decide after I figure it out!

Lace shrug

Thanks Michelle, this is an excellent idea! And, I just got my shipment of yarn today. Funny how those two skeins of sock yarn managed to slip in my order!

So, I will be knitting the DIC Shrug, in Some Summer Sky, a pretty blue shade. I'll post photos, as soon as there is something to photograph.

Lace Knitting

This is exciting for me. I actually cast on Veronik Avery's Layered Skater's Top (overtop) from Knitting Classic Style yesterday but unfortunately, ended up frogging my 8 or 9 rounds. Silly me, I thought I could knit this with super kydd on regular circulars. I desperately need an Addi Lace for this project. Once I get one, I'll start over. Once again, I chose hot pink! Must be a phase or the fact that I live in a house with 3 boys!

What I plan on knitting that is lacy

I have Guinevere from SOTS to complete and then there is Savannah from SOTS ii.
I can do this - as soon as I finish the sis's afghan...

Lace A Long

Thanks for all your comments! Janet's comment made me think...maybe we can do a lace a long and that way we can include everyone!

So for June and July pick out a project that you would like to knit that has a lace motif and we will knit a long! I will be working on a lace stole for my sister along with many fingering weight shawls for myself!
What are you planning on knitting?

Hmm...

The brainstorm has turned into a whispering breeze. It seems my creativity is out of juice after 2 fiber festivals worth of dyeing.
So, I will turn to you my trusty friends for ideas.
I was thinking of something in a fingering weight, are any of you up for a fingering weight shawl KAL? Ofcourse it would be a 2 month (at least) KAL so we arn't rushing ourselves.
Does everyone have fingering weight stash?

Or...a tank top? How about that?
Please give me your 2 cents!

I am in need of another KAL. There will be brainstorming over here at the Sweet Sheep! I will let you know when I have something good.
Anyone interested?

Help?

Okay, I have a confession to make. My Mr. Greenjeans is currently sitting in a box with one sleeve finished and the stitches picked up for the second sleeve. Unfortunately, after all that cabling, I've lost interest in the thing. Plus, the malabrigo I was using for it didn't come out the wayI wanted it to (the yarn is a touch too fat for my taste) Even the month of April as UFO month didn't motivate me (I finished my dream in colour shrug and started a wool peddler's shawl instead, argh I have a short attention span). I'm wondering if I should press on or just frog the darned thing and cut my losses. Opinions?
