Sleeve-ing along

I don't have a new photo, but I am about halfway done with my sleeve (I am soooo not going to win). I am closer on gauge (18 st to 4"), but I'm not going to worry about it after the comments about the armhole being tight. I am knitting the 2XL, but if my gauge stays, I can move down to the XL and probably still get a good fit. The sleeves are knit exactly the same for both sizes, anyway.....

Great -
and if you crank off both sleeves the you are done with the part that most of us put off (second sleeve syndrome can be worse than second sock sydrome!)

then just measure across the top of your sleeve and divide by two. That will give you the depth of the "sleeve attachment area" that you need on the front and the back.

If it was me, and I liked the 18/10 cm, then I would recalculate the number of stitches needed for the size you want. If it matches one of the other sizes, then you have your decreases all written out for you as well.

you are doing great! we are all just living in the mundane world right about now

Good for you! I am so dreading the sleeves. I am totally stuck on the front...my job is really eating up my knitting time.

I cast on both sleeves at the same time. There are a few yarn tangles but I don't have second sleeve syndrom. The big plus is I know they will match!

I'm nowhere near starting sleeves. Holly has a great idea for making sure the arm holes are the right size. Wish I could have thought of it!

You can also do it the other way around (which is what I did). Knit the body first, then measured what I needed for sleeve width!
